ABOUT ME -
YOUR COACH
Hi, I’m Maya Edlund — a coach, athlete, and founder of ASCND.
​
I grew up as a competitive figure skater and started coaching figure skating at the age of 15.
Sport and movement have always been a part of my life — but I didn’t begin with a natural talent for the gym. When I first discovered strength training and CrossFit, I couldn’t even do a single pull-up.
​
Through hard work, structure, and consistency, I transformed — going from zero gym experience to lifting heavy weights and mastering advanced gymnastics movements like muscle-ups.
​
That journey taught me one of the most important lessons: strength is not just physical — it’s about proving to yourself that you can do things you once thought were impossible.
​
I know how it feels to doubt yourself, to lack confidence, to think “I could never do that.” And I also know the power of proving those thoughts wrong.
​
That’s why I created ASCND — to help others build not just strength, but also confidence, resilience, and a lifestyle that lasts.
